About me:

Maps have held a captivating allure for me since childhood. During my 14-year tenure as a cabin attendant based in London, I witnessed the world unfold below me—a canvas of colors, patterns, reliefs, and textures. Now, having resided in Japan for the past decade, Mapponica is the culmination of my experiences, a tangible expression of what I've seen, felt, and lived.

Utilizing traditional washi paper, my maps embody the essence of Japan, illuminating countries, states, and cities in a harmonious dance of cultural significance.

The genesis of this venture began with my first creation—a map of my homeland, France, adorned with Japanese motifs. Through this unique fusion, I discovered not only my soul map but also a profound reflection of my mixed family's distinctive sense of identity.

My creations encapsulate the dual nature of those who traverse Japan, whether for a fleeting visit or a lifetime. Once touched by the singular essence of this country, one carries a piece of it wherever their journey leads.
